Naphtha:
Light hydrotreated naphtha is a complex mixture predominantly of aliphatic hydrocarbons, rich in pentane and related light paraffins; this composition explains its low viscosity and high volatility. The hydrotreating process removes sulfur and nitrogen compounds, increasing the chemical stability of the product compared to untreated naphtha. It is used as a raw material in the petrochemical industry (including for pyrolysis and the production of olefins), as a component of motor fuels, an industrial solvent and extractant, and also as a diluent in various technological processes in oil refining and in certain segments of pharmaceutical production, where a volatile hydrocarbon solvent with a controlled composition is required.
